BLACK KNIGHT v. PROVENT-A-MITE >2004

MartinWhalin1 Feb 20, 2004 01:18 AM

I know this is an old discussion, but I am looking for some up-to-date opinions. Heck, if we can argue over something stupid like Indigo versus Kingsnake we can argue something interesting. (I mean, everybody knows Kings rule!) Let the anecdotes fly!

I have used Black Knight on 3 species of Sandboa, W. Hogs, 3 types of Milksnakes, E. Kings, Prairie Kings, alterna, Pyros, Bogeys, Baird's Rats, Ball Pythons and probably a few other species (I loaned a breeder female to a "friend" and she came back crawling with mites so I had to treat all my animals).

Frankly, I have had great results with the stuff and used to swear by it. I simply sprayed it in the cage and around the room with the snakes in their cages and voilà, no more mites for good.

I have subsequently read/heard some of the negative results of using BK and have been a little more careful with recommending it over Provent-a-mite.

For the record, I have travelled to foreign countries a lot during my life where they came onto the plane and sprayed "disinfectant" which was actually....Black Knight Roach Killer tnen being sold under the name Aeroplane Aerosol Insecticide. It has had no effect on me, as far as I can tellsdgasdokgajksdfhglkasfd'gaklwjstpwaeoijg. lol.
