I wanted to share with you a cute behavior that my little gal/guy does...my husband and i stay up pretty late at night do to college (yuck, almost done!)and therefore we turn on our lights in the room where the viv is every now and then. Almost everytime this is done at night, she pokes just enough of her head out to she what just caused the commotion, notices that is one of those big scarey people and then ducks back under her water bowl...which by the way has become her favorite place to be! I knew that a baby corn would be shy, just didn't know to what extent!

yeah mine does that too except she doesnt duck back in...she sits at the opening and keeps watch at whats going on. It's almost as if she has to be able to see out or she wont go in it

ditto that...Nora is regularly active in the afternoon/evening. She's pretty predictable and if I peek in the cage around 4pm, i can see her little head peeking out of a hide box, seeing if it's safe to come out, lol.

I call this behavior the Loch Ness technique. Have you ever seen those old fuzzy pics of 'Nessy' when it looks just like a snake neck and head above the water? That's what my adult girls look like when they hear me get up in the morning. Their tanks are next to my bed so I see two little Loch Ness monsters peering up out of the hide boxes seeing if I feel like feeding them. Once they know everything is okay and I am really not going to feed them they go back in their hides to lay around the rest of the day. Rough life!
