Superworms for a skinny Dexter?

jakeleolizard Feb 20, 2004 08:01 AM

Hi all,

For some reason, Dexter hasn't been eating that great for the past week or two... pretty much since he dinged up his nose from jumping on the screen.... it is slowly healing... and I put in a new UVA/UVB desert tube... so now I have three lights on in the day... temps have been fine... 115 basking, all the way down to 75 degrees in the far corner... nice gradient... but for some reason... he will go a day w/o eating... or will eat one grasshopper and that is it... he use to eat 2-3 grasshoppers (little ones) and maybe a wax worm or two.... he has lost all interest in wax worms... soooooooooooooo

I got my first batch of Superworms... geeesh... those things are wiggly!! But I put one in his tank two days ago and he ate it and one more yesterday... just been putting one at a time per day b/c they seem huge... he seems to enjoy them... fun to watch him eat them... AND fun to watch my new puppy play with them!! haha.

Is there anything wrong with him eating superworms two or three days in a row... I have put some crickets in as well, but doesn't seem overly interested in them (they are dusted).....

Just trying to raise a healthy collared.. thanks for the info!!

JIM

Some of my little piggies eat supers everyday along with their crickets ! As long as they want to eat, let em !

Good luck with the new Puppy too !
