I use reptariums for my chameleons and have mercury vapor bulbs that I use with with.....I just use a dome extention or use can use a light stand to keep it a bit farther from the material.

Where are you going for your vacation, and for how long? While it might seem like a neat idea initially, to bring Delilah along, I would be concerned about her getting stressed out from the travel, being in an umfamiliar setting, etc. She'd be likely to go off her food as well. It doesn't seem to me like it would be worth it, unless you were going somewhere where she would really feel at home. Otherwise I would leave her at home and have a licensed pet-sitter or trusted neighbor come and check on her. Just my .02

we go every year and stay in townhouses, 2 families to a townhouse.

I asked the family that we would share with and they didnt have a problem with this...no other pets along, the smallest child belongs to us and delilah is used to her....

we usually travel at nite going there so delilah would sleep on rachael on the way down.....back is usually early in the am (may be a problem)

yes I know, I am thinking of the potential problems and a big part of me says to just keep her home, its selfish that I will miss her, I will also miss the other 8 too......
I have spoken to a petsitter who has taken care of reptiles, my husband is concerned because we dont know her, Ive also been speaking with my local small pet shop... I have also spoken with a good friend of mine even if she came by twice that would be fine. all lights are on timers, by the way Im using b-22's idea of plugging the light strip into the timer in the wall and it controls four lights two for each dragon (one inland and one rankin and we just got a collard lizard so he is on a timer too.)

Im still not sure what to do....delilah is like a small dog to me.

Thanks for your concern, I appreciate it and have had the same thoughts...
