Frozen Peas?

Karu Feb 20, 2004 08:29 AM

Is it good to give frozen peas to my Saharan? I'd thaw them and warm them slightly first.

they block certain nutrients. You should look at the care sheet on

because it says that with "proper supplementation" the health benefits of peas outweigh the risks. Peas are actually good for uros. In fact, Doug Dix says that he doesn't consider his uros acclimated until they are eating peas. Please go back and re-read it because I think you mistakenly omitted some important information.

As I understood it, peas are an excellent way to get fussy uros to eat - they love them. They are also great for getting thin animals to gain some weight. However, they do bind nutrients, so you should always supplement with extra calcium when you feed them. Also, they are not a staple food item because of these things, they're just something to add to the regular diet now and again.
