have liver problems?..among other things?

they digest slowly.......and will overeat.....

feed once a week.a good meal..not too big and not too small....

I know some balls that have died from being fed every other day or so..............

some balls grow quickly on little food and some grow slower on more food.......make sence?......

............genetics,cage size,food,temps,luck........

I completely agree with jfmoore. With the probability of most balls going off feed for months at a time I think it is essential to feed as often as you can while the ball is eating. Now I am not suggesting feeding him every other day but once every five days while he is feeding is great and will help him build up a reserve for when he does go off feed. Todd

I've been following the typically recommended once every 5-7 days (I feed every 7) for young BPs. For adults I've heard once every 7-10 days.

i feed my BP once per 14 days, with 3 adult mice...actually yesterday he ate only 2, 3rd one not yet...maybe he's not hungry anymore.anyway i put last mouse in his tank 15 min ago...so i'l see if he is going to eat it!
recomended is 7-10, but is kind of hard to get mice for me...have to buy them for 3$ each!
but for his size 3 mice once a 14 days is enough!...i think?!

How large is your BP? I feed mine 2 adult mice every 7 days. He's 8 months, 240 grams.

they are about 8 months old...im not sure of the weight.....they are approx. close to 24'....my feeding schedule rite now is twice a week...monday and thursday.....i try feeding two prey items each snake.....thanx for your advice....

If they are girls and you plan on breeding them I would avoid about 90% of the advice that was given.

Alot of the members here on the Ball forum keep 1-3 snakes and they should not even be offering tips since they really don't know. They will jump in and tell you they "think" or they "read" but anyway......

If you have any plans on breeding these animals and they are still juvis, then feeding them twice a week will work out great. I feed/offer baby Regius twice a week until they hit 600-700 grams. When they are in the 700 gram range I offer 1 bigger food item weekly.

Another good odea is to try and get your animal on rats as soon as you can. Then it can be fed 1 item once a week vs. 3-4 items once a week.

To me this seems to be a very small boy, most of my babies were 3x that at the same age. But all of my babies were on rat pups within the first few meals.

WHAT? Do you have any idea what you are talking about?

Regius have a faster metabolism than alot of the small boids.

you're right if breeding then the advice given wouldn't apply - but I believe we all took it that breeding was not in the plans.

I wouldn't doubt it - especially if you feed them as you explained. But somethings to take into consideration when telling someone there snakes are "too small" is if they've ever gone off feed and when they started eating in the first place. I give him as much as he wants - sometimes he takes less than other times. I also don't feed during shed.
