Jackson's breeding trouble

Anthonyd Feb 20, 2004 07:21 PM

I have had my jacksons for almost a year now, and no matter what I do, they will not breed. I put them together every two weeks or so, but nothing. The male does some nodding, and gives up about a minute later. the female just ignores him after a while, and it is becomin quite frustrating that I have had no progress in a year. If any one can help it would be greatly appriciated. Thanks in advance.

This is not an uncommon problem. You can try freeranging the two of them in a large potted plant (e.g., a 6' Ficus) but watch them carfeully. Sometims it helps to show the male a mirror before trying to mate them. It can stimulate the competitive juices.
