Shinglebacks are awesome skinks but.......

JeanP. Feb 20, 2004 08:34 PM

Hello,

In bringing an earlier thread back from the dead, I wanted to say that I have to agree this is a forum dedicated to ALL menbers of the Scincidae. If Martin Whalen wants to boast about American skink s, pictures posted of other skinks shouldn't be used with the assumption that these are coveted by all. Come on people! It sounds like Dr.Seuss and the star Bellied Sneeches. If you have BTS you have a star or is it Corucia today? Whether you have Aussie skinks or American skinks remember this is general skink forum- respect one another!

Thanks for listening!

Best Regards,
Jean

I think skinks from New Guinea are the best kinds of skinks. Especially small bumpy ones. I guess the other ones are all ok too though.

It reveals the depth to which evolution can sink when it takes the downward path and strips animals to the irreducible minimum able to perpetuate a predatory life in its naked horror."

Well put...

Opinion stated- yet respectful. Very Refreshing.

Yes, I have seen some beautiful specimens come from there.

...as long as another is not directly put down in the process. (Not directed at you specifically-It applies to everyone). That was my point.

Productively Edward, and others could benefit from your vast experience; why not expand beyond 'Tiliqua rules' and go into some detail why you feel this way? It could certainly benefit some novices out there (as well as Blue-tongues in their care).

More attention to detail with less emotional baggage would benefit all. (Again, This applies to all-myself included.)

There was one benefit in the Thread in Question, when Pipa posted the Shingleback-comeback picture, I was educated in that I was unaware that Shinglebacks possessed red pigment on their heads.

Best Regards,
Jean
