Any imput on how to sex monitors??? I have a 10''(snout to vent) water monitor and would like to know the sex. I've been told this is very hard to determine, that only an x-ray showing "calcium deposits" would let me know for sure, and only when it gets closer to being an adult, is this true??? you experts out there please help............. thanks in advance!

There is no easy way of doing this. Best bet is to have someone with experience look it over, but at a young age it is hard to tell. As it matures it will be easier.

You can have an X ray done on the tail base. If it is male you will see two small dots where the hemipenis is located. But it is not 100% accurate.

Good luck
