I was looking at my boa today and she has a grey looking spot right behind/above her nostrils (not the rostrum itself, just to clarify). I thought maybe she had rubbed it against the screen at the top of the cage, but wouldn't that leave a rub more on the rostrum than above and behind it? Also, ever since she defecated about 2 weeks ago, she seemed like she is unhappy about something in her enclosure (thus the fear of nose rub; she really tried to get out), even though I thouroughly cleaned the entire setup and gave her brand new carpet. She has never had any problems at all before. I started taking different things out, and when I removed the leaves (I have a strand of leaves for looks which have been there many months), she seemed fine again. I have examined and smelled all over the leaves, but I can't find anything. Could someone tell me what is going on? I know snakes are hardy creatures, but does the grey spot sound like something that'll be a problem or not? Should I take her to the vet?
