The Reptison 5.0 seems to have the best UVB output.

I don't see why they have the higher number for a lesser UV output. I use a 8.0 on my vieled and it works fine, it also claims on the back of the box that the higher the number, the more UV it puts out. (there is also a veiled on the front, not that y ou should listen to the market people)

You may be correct. I'm not terribly knowledgeable on this issue. The only thing I can say is that the Reptisun 5.0 is typically the bulb of choice for the "experts" (if there are such things in cham husbandry). But it wouldn't surprise me in the least if the 8.0 was as good or even better.

I think they mean that 5% or 8% of their bulbs total output is UVB. Regardless, zoomed's "5%" bulbs output much, UCH more than the "8%" bulbs out there. In fact, the only reptile buls thaT OUTPUT MORE THAN THE zoomed 5% bulbs are mercury vapor bulbs.

Don't go by what's printed on labels, go by what studies have proven.

Thanks, Eric. That's what I remembered but I wasn'r certain enough of it to say it outright.
