Questions about Stacking a animal plastic cage on top of a vision

Rottenweiler9 Feb 20, 2004 11:25 PM

So I just got an animal plastic cage, and I put it on top of my vision cage on this shelf I built. Where the heat light is on the vision is right above the heat tape in my animal plastic cage, do you see this being a problem, or could start a fire. Or is the light on the vision dropped down to far for anything.
Thanks
Jeff

Measuring the temps of the heat tape with lower cage bulb OFF, then heat tape with lower cage bulb ON for like 20 minutes will give you data.

Although I doubt there is a fire hazard, I think the smart thing to do is to raise the AP cage up a bit. You may either modify the shelf or build a raised platform on top of it.
