what is the best way to hang vines in a screen cage?

tsioc Feb 21, 2004 12:56 AM

I purchased a new, larger screen cage for my veiled, and am trying to decorate it.

What is the best way to hang artificial vines in an all screen cage?

Are there any sites that give recommendations on how to decorate the enclosure?

I came across this problem as well. If the cages is made of a wood frame, then either nail each end to different corners with a galvanized nail (so it doesn't rust) or screw it in.
If it is metal, then i suggest putting a thin wire through the vine or wrap it tightly around the end, and wrapping the wire through the screen and around one of the vertical frame posts. I don't know if the metal version will work, becasue i have never had a metal enclosure.
Try it anyway!

I use fishing line to attach items to the cage. It's very strong and nearly invisible. I'd attach it around the frame of the cage and not to the screen itself so you don't risk stretching or tearing the screen.

is that a demonstration cage? it looks like that cage could use some bend vines so the cham can get all over the cage instead of just up and down the middle.

just a suggestion

Agreed. They need more horizontal than vertical branches. Also, if that's an MV bulb, that cham's getting way too much UVB, especially since there's not a huge amount of shade in that set up. Other than that it looks pretty nice.
