Yeah I'm heading up to some local spots in the Gabes, will report back!
Not to long ago, in the San Gabriel Mountains i have found San Gabriel Slender, Black-bellied Slender, and Ensatina.
I live in Las Vegas and unfortunately I am unable to get over there. I did grow up herping in the San Gabriels. Primarily in the areas around San Antonio Canyon, Glendora, San Gabriel River watershed etc. I was over on Christmas and spent Christmas day out looking for Ensatinas, Aneides etc. I saw quite a few newts, 1 tree frog, a fence lizard, and an alligator lizard. The lizards appeared to have been flushed by the storm from their winter quarters. Anyway, I'd love to hear any information about herping in S California. I have not done much there since the early 1980's and things seem to have changed quite a bit. I want to start spending some recreational time with my old hobby.
Thanks,

This weekend I will cruise out locally to a smaller mtn. range and do some hiking around. I will let post what I come across.
