New to forum with question regarding breeding

muldl1 Jun 09, 2003 02:31 PM

Hello all!

I had a quick question. I read in de Vosjoli that females are capable of storing sperm for up to one year. Is there a way to flush her out or kill stored sperm? I'd like to make certain of the paternity of the offspring when breeding when breeding to multiple males.

Thanks!

Never heard of flushing the sperm out of one female to breed her to another male. I doubt it can be done.

no not that I know of. Actually I belive the eggs are fertillized and can be stored up inside as tiny almost microscopic yolks till she is ready to lay them. Then they drop down and form shells and are laid. More than likely if she was fertillized she laid soon after. The only reason she would not is because of unnatural weather conditions in the wild forcing her to do so. But they are capable of holding that long.
