ReptiSun 5.0 vs Super UV Coil lamp??

jack7777766 Jun 09, 2003 02:33 PM

Hi,
I currently have a reptiSun 5.0 bulb, which is what I think most people use to give their pets UVA/UVB rays. Anyways for my next herp I was thinking of getting the Super UV Coil Lamp since I dont have to buy one of those fixtures for it (Ill just use my clamp lamp) I was just wondering if its as good as the reptiSun bulbs, in terms of duration, right amounts of UV, how much area the UV light reaches (I have a feeling the coil bulb isnt as much), etc

So if you know any of this, pros and cons, etc Id appreciate it.

Thanks
Jack

I do not know the stats on these bulbs...

I am also curious to see the diference between the supercoil lamp and the coiled lamps you se at home improvement centers....

Is there anybody who has done any research....

I'm a real fan of the active UVB and pwersun bulbs....
I've seen results in my Uros...

i tried one of these lamps, the uvb output is def not as much or as great of that of the reptisun, i belives the supercoil has uvb or 3%, while the reptisun should double that percentage, the bulb looks cool, but i dont know the lifespan of the bulb either hope this helps

You're gonna want to shoot for a 7.0 or 8.0, not 5.0 UV bulb.
