Diahrrea..Poo!

Goblin-Gecko14 Feb 21, 2004 09:29 AM

My cousin's adult beardie had diahrrea and after a day or two he got it back. What can he do to treat it. He's going to the vet. But what else can he do so he wont get dehydrated. Should he buy an electrolyzer for the drinking water. I also heard you can let the beardie swim in some warm water. Will that help?

Keep it hydrated, he might want to try some pedialite. Get it to a vet.

or worms.

Til you can get there, for the diarrha you can use diluted pedialyte or diluted Gatorade given through a dropper or syringe (without needle) to the tip of the nose. If he will not drink it, lower the back lip (not jaw... don't force) and just place a drop there, he will get a taste of it and usually start licking, we have found they like strawberry or strawberry-kiwi best.

You can also give him some probiotics, like Acidolpholiz Digestive Tract Conditionermade by Pet Authority and sold in PetSmarts and online. It needs to be refrigerated as it has live active good bacteria.
