Mouse and Rat food.

Sasheena Feb 21, 2004 10:32 AM

I promised in another thread to talk about my "perfect mouse mixture" and since that thread is getting rapidly buried, I thought I would share it in a new thread.

To make up my "perfect" mouse food it includes the following for the exact right mix:

50 lbs Grreat Choice Adult Dog Food ($11.95 at petsmart)
50 lbs COB (Corn/Oats/Barley) ($7.95 at the feed store)
20 lbs black oil sunflower seeds ($5.99 at the supermarket)

$26 base cost for 120 lbs of food that lasts a couple of months.

I once did a calculation on the combination fat/protein/fiber in the mixture, but I've forgotten those calculations. All I know is that with this particular mixture, I get the highest production.

Yea I think that was for me. Thanks...

But there are no feed stores close by, every one I've been to now is either closed or inhabited by red necks who look like they are going to point a shotgun at me... (serious)

Sounds like a good mixture. What do you use for food feeders. Pelleted food works the best if you have wire bins for feeders but if it was dishes then that mixture would work.
