In my viv I have a hollow cork log. My cuban anole never seems to leave not even to eat. He will eat if I drop a locust into his log. He is not trapped or dead. What is wrong with him.

It may be that the animal feels nervous. Let me ask you the following:
Can he see other, larger lizards or snakes from inside his enclosure? If so, he may be freaked out.
Does he have enough vegetative cover in his enclosure? If not, I recommend you pick up so pothos, fiscus, etc.
thanks for the advice but he has plenty of leaf cover he also cannot see any other lizard. Except for a big lizard sculpture could this be frightening him.
