SICK AQUATIC FROG! PLEASE HELP!!!!

AutumnOfSerenity Feb 21, 2004 12:34 PM

I have an Abino African Clawed Frog. I bought it about a month back at Walmart (I know, not a good move, but it was so cute and they were keeping him/her in less than an inch awater in litter container). I've had African Clawed Frogs off and on for about eight years (my first one lived to be about 6 years old). I've never really encountered a problem with them before but this once has recently been very red around the anal region (I think thats what it would be called anyway). He used to dwell primarily at the bottem of the tank and jump around quite alot. Not he stays right at the top and doesnot move around hardly at all. He still eats pretty well. Yesterday my husband I noticed he looked a bit swollen in the anal area and today he looks like his skin is peeling. I would very much like to know what is wrong with him so that I can get him better or at least try to make him more comfortable until the inevitable.

Thank You,

Melissa
