Largest retic I can keep in a 52x20x10 "rubbermaid" container??

Hi Everyone,

I may be purchasing large tubs from www.reptiletubs.com. The tubs measure 52Lx20wx10h (aprox.).

What's the largest size retic that I can house in that size container?

My retics will graduate from a 23x16x6 container into these new tubs. Finally, from there I will build a custom enclosure.

Please let me know what you think?

Thanks,

Peter F.

if it is temperary I can see keeping a 5' retic in it for a few months, or even a 6' retic in these tubs for a shorter time frame (I had to keep a pair of 7' burmese pythons, while in quarentine in 40 gallon breeders. For approximately 2 months) they were somewhat cramped but still had enough room to sprawl out a bit but was far from an acceptable long term enclosure.

I have seen these tubs in person and can tell you the floor area is much smaller than 52" x 20". That holds true for any box designed to stack and nest into other like boxes, but especially so with the Iris boxes.

I used to have floor area measurements for this box but can't seem to find them. E-mail them and ask for the exact measurements of the floor area. I think it was 48" x 17". Not much bigger than a 55 gallon aquarium.

Nice boxes, though. And Eric is a great guy to deal with.

for a large colubrid such as a pinesnake, what kind of ventilation should be applied - how many holes and where? Plan to use cheap soldering iron to make holes.
