Can heat tape be used on Rubbermaid containers?

Or is that a fire waiting to happen? I know UTH said do not use it on plastic surface but I see heat strips being used quite a bit by breeders.

I use heat tape on hundreds of rubbermaids... no problems at all.

Just make sure you have it hooked up to a rheostat or thermostat.
