I just got back from the vet after taking a fecal sample in for my little girl that isn't growing. (She's 7 months old and still only about 3 inches long. Her clutchmate is double her size.) The verdict was negative on the fecal float. Why doesn't she grow??

She does eat...just not very much. I had her weighed and she only weighs 10 grams. She's got heat, hides, vitamins/calcium and a varied died of mealies and crickets available to her all the time but just wont grow! I've even been offering her waxies every day now trying to get her to eat something!

Crystal, when you get your little one back from your friend and run a fecal I hope you have something to go on. I'm at a total loss on mine!

If she isn't eating much, that could be an obvious problem.

It could be a hormone problem also, or a genetic defect...

And of course failure to thrive syndrome...

I was reading your post,
I also have a gecko shes almost 9 months old now, he name is Sobe, and she is only about 3 1/2 to 4 inches long (she lost part of her tail when she was a week old) but her brother (not a clutch mate) was born a month earlier and he is about 6 inches long.

She does eat a lot though, but I don't know why she isn't growing as much as her brother did.
