New tegu w/eatting problem

yesterday I got a T. Merianae (Argentine b/w) from a friend and i was told that it doesnt eat anything but raw chick eggs. Its about 5 months old and i would like to get him on a better diet. I have offered fruits and crickets but he wont go for them. any tips or tricks that might help? thanks

yeah i encountered the same problem, what i did was slowly convert over to a more varied diet buy glazing whatever food your trying to offer him with some raw egg. at first i did this with like bannanas or ground chicken or whatever by just plopping half the egg over the food....and as time went on i stopped adding the yolk by using less and less of the yolk, and soon i just used egg white to glaze the food. after a while i used less and less so now he'll eat most the food i offer him, and if not i will glaze here and there. you may even be able to just use egg white to glaze without the yolk to start....depending on the lizard.

My Tegu was a poor eater in the beginning, he wouldnt eat mice dead or alive. So, i started covering the mice in ground beef juice (nasty), he would taste it then eat it up. Now, i dont have to do it anymore, he knows its good.
