Cooling / Breeding question for all you pros.

rujonesin Feb 21, 2004 04:39 PM

This is my first year breeding dragons, as I have been into breeding boas up until now. I have an eight month old male who is just starting to show signs of sexual maturity.(pictured in earlier post) He was cooled in the same room as my adults, but his day temps were allowed to go higher. I have a Sandfire female I would like to put him with in a few months when he is more mature. Will his cooling period of mid Nov. to Mid Feb. be sufficient to keep him fertile later this season, or would it be better to wait and cool him again for next season? I am eager to use him, but don't want to waste a breeding with a proven adult sandfire. What are your thoughts?

Thanks,
Mike

I dont think its a concern at all not to mention that females can retain sperm for later use up to a year
