Trying something a little different...

wetceal Feb 21, 2004 04:54 PM

I decided to try something different when photographing animals. I really don't like to black rocks I've been using in photos recently because they are shiny and tend to reflect too much light back sometimes. But I do like using black as a background because it is a good base color to use in judging/comparing reptile colorations on so...

We had some black velvet material laying around and I decided to give it a try. I used the regular settings on my camera that I have been using in the past plus added a full spectrum flourescent light overhead to help light up any dark/shadowed areas on the animals.

I think it worked pretty well...let me know what you think..?

Thanks for looking!

Celia

This is probably my favorite photo out of the ones I took today. This girl is about 4 feet long now and I think this photo captures her true colorations very well...

My Arabesque Boa...she's about 5 feet long now...I couldn't get her to hold still for anything today!

The little Motley guy...

And the Jungle...

wow those are some nice pics. How do you post several pics like that?

wetceal Feb 21, 2004 05:37 PM

It's really easy to post multiple photos. You want to use this code...

{img}http://www.whatever.com/photo.jpg{/img}

However, instead of the little "{ }" you would have brackets "[ ]". I can't show you using the brackets though because it'll try to show a photo.

So instead of using {img} you really want to use [img] and [/img} at the beginning and the end.

You just need to put the location of your photo between the two [img] brackets. For example, here is what the code for my photo post would look like:

{img}http://www.celiachien.com/newtech1.jpg{/img}

{img}http://www.celiachien.com/newtech2.jpg{/img}

{img}http://www.celiachien.com/newtech3.jpg{/img}

And so on. I hope this information helps...

pictures!!! You have a great collection and you take beautiful pictures. I think the black velvet background worked very well and you've inspired me to give it a try instead of the usual tee shirt I normally use!!! LOL Good luck!!!
