cresty egg starting to dent after only two weeks

kofseattle Feb 21, 2004 06:06 PM

Hello,

I have finally been able to retrieve what I believe to be fertile eggs from my crested enclosure. One of them is already sinking in after only two weeks. Assuming they are fertile is this a sign of too much or too little moisture in the perilite mix? It is sinking in on the side but appears to be fertile with candling. Nice and firm and white as well. Any help apprecitated!

Denting of the egg is from not enough moisture in the perlite. you need to add a bit to the mix and make sure its not drying to fast. The egg is sucking in air. If it's just started and only a slight dent, then you're fine but don't let it happen again cause the animal may be born with deficientcies. it puts alot of stress on teh animal tryign to develope
