So my roommates are having a kegger...and of course I've been drinking...and we let everyone in the building know we were having a party and to come let us know if we were too loud or anything. So anyway...about 15 minutes ago the cops showed up at the door!....I'm only 20!!!!!!!!! Luckily it was only about a noise complaint so they didn't come in or anything...thank god... I was scared out of my mind!!!!! Needless to say I won't be drinking any more tonight! Of course now it's no quieter than it was...which is not good....hopefully the cops won't get called again...

oh come on...I hardly ever drink...and when I do its not even usually a lot...I only had 4 or 5 tonight...usually I only have one or two and only once or twice a month...hell I've never even really been drunk

Well I just happen to be a Jail Deputy and if I had a nickel for every 20 year old that has said" Oh I only drink a few, or I would never drive after drinking." I could have retired 2 times over. You might want to consider the lives that you may affect if you get ever decide to drink and drive. (Peer Pressure is unbelievable) See you soon!!!!!!!

and about the age thing, around here the legal age is 19, and I've seen a lot of 19 year olds act more responsibly than people in their 40's while drinking.

I realize that in your area the law says 21, but that doesn't mean that a 20 year old from there is no more/less responsible than a 20 year old from Nova Scotia, or Quebec (where the legal age is 18)

How can everyone thats of leagal aage act like theyve never drank before...maybe you havent but its a normal thing for college students if you havent noticed...why such terrible responses...im only 15 and ill tell you now i have never even had a beer in my life but i know that drinking is a common thing and some people do drink responsibly so stop acting like he/she did something terribly wrong...

you know the drinking age when anyone over 40 was younger was only 18....and I'm sure a lot of them still drank when they were younger than that!

thanks fritz! I would NEVER drink and drive...I'm not an idiot and I don't give in to peer pressure...I've never smoked a cigarrette or even considered trying any drugs... There's a lot of things I've said no to and not given in on...and to be honest no one has ever asked me to drive after drinking. If they do, I'll say no...plain and simple...and by the way I say after drinking and not drunk because I don't get drunk...I don't drink enough...as I said before I don't even drink once a month on average...I drink once maybe every two or three months and not enough to get me drunk. A little off balance maybe but I can still think straight...and I hate that feeling so I generally try to avoid it.

I was afraid you'd get some lectures about drinking...but come on folks, she's in college. Not only that, drinking is a fact of life, and I happen to think that college keggers are one of the safer ways to drink. There's generally no where to park so nobody drives, (and god knows there's no parking at U of I!!) so most people who go to keggers walk there anyway. There's still the risk of what you choose to -do- while you're drunk, and a lot of bad things can happen at parties, BUT I can tell you right now that lecturing isn't going to stop anybody. The best way to be safe when you're drinking is to either have an off switch, or have friends who know when to call it quits, and it sounds like Stina has an off switch.

The party was actually very calm...everyone was just talking loud...there were no drinking games or anything going on...and I don't think the keg even got finished (there were probably about 20 people...more or less).

Sounds like a pretty lame-a$$ party!

She didn't say anything about driving, she just said the cops showed up and she got freaked out. Big deal is shes underage drinking, it happens every day all over the world. Chill out people as soon as someone mentions drinking people freak out and immediately assume that person or someone near them is driving after the drinking. Theres busses, cabs, and designated drivers. Lay off relax have a beer it'll all work out.
