i was wondering do fire bellied toads need a light source. mine gets sunlight in the morning and has a normal day and night cycle from the sun will that be ok THANKS

I think that all captive reptiles and amphibians, regardless of their need for UVB can benefit from a light source that provides a full spectrum of light including UVA. It can do wonders for their behavior and colors. Make sure that your tank does not get hot from the sun in the morning!

It all depends upon what your room temperature is. and if i was you i wouldnt let ANY sunlight hit the fire belly toads tanks because they can die of heat stress. If your room temp is 70 id use a 40 watt clear bulb and that'll be fine.
The reason that i wouldnt keep it by the window is because my friend's brother bought like 4 anoles. And he kept them by the window because he didnt know any better and one day the sun FINALLY came out and during the day it got to hot and killed the poor things. The next day my friend went to check on them and their was nothing but dust their because lizards decompose faster than other things.
