Question about a cage that is wedged to the ceiling or a room

Rottenweiler9 Feb 22, 2004 11:40 AM

I have an animal plastic cage I bought, and when I but it on my shelfing system it is pressed right up to the ceiling. Can this start a fire with the light. The light is in a box in the celing of the cage but the cage is pressed right up against the ceiling. Anyone else have cages right up to the top of there room.

If the lighting system has no air to cool off it can overheat. It can happen.. it could melt plastic if it catches on fire... Now, if you add some ventilation holes to it, it might not happen, also if you put some aluminum sheet metal in between the top and the ceiling it might help...
