So my gecko is in paradise but I never get to see him.

Well for starters im glad i found this forum, lol i was posting in the feeder section haha

Anyways, I love my lil leopard gecko, hes a juvenile in a 20 gal low tank. Unfortunately he lives in the moist hide and i never see him.

Ive done a ton of reading and understand that not much if anything should share tanks due to location of there origin etc. But there has to be a basking reptile somewhere that would live in harmony with him isnt there>??

IIRC there is more than one species of leopard geckos, but assuming you mean the common one. Then first of all that tank might actually be too big, I put a couple in a 20 gallon and they freaked out because it was actually too big for them.

Leopard geckos can be housed together as long as there aren't more than one sexually mature males... and there isn't a big size difference.

Lastly, as they get more comfortable they will come out more.

And you shouldn't house different species together

Different leopard gecko species? Are you referring to E. turcmenicus, E. hardwicki, E. angramainyu, etc.? I'd be curious to know whether these species are being bred anywhere in this country. Also, are you suggesting that husbandry for these species differs from that of E. macularius, that they might need a larger tank, different humidity or temp range?

I had 4 juvie females in a 15gallon long. They got along well and it they hid all day long. After about 3 months they finally ate food around me. In 4 months they started hanging out all the time. They have the new tank jitters that's all.

Instead of replying to everyone.. which thanks for the tips all.
As far as I know this is your everyday leopard gecko. Im working on pictures =) What I was getting at was, Ive read that a green anole shared a tank with a leo and they were "best buds"..
I just really wish I saw more of him, but I will give it more time definetly. I am certainly considering more of the same species once I determine the sex. I will let him get settled in good before I quarantine any new gecks.

Thanks again,
