hows my humidity box?

sandfireman Feb 22, 2004 01:17 PM

Hey guyz, and gals!
I have recently purchased a small (unused) kitty pan from a pet store. I have turned it into a humidity box by cuttin a small square opening on the side so that my BP can get in and out easily. I have a wood chip like substrate in the cage but inside the upside down kitty pan i have put a repti carpet material, some rags that i have wetted down but then rung out. I sprayed it down pretty good and its sorta below one of my heat lamps. Since I cut the hole on the side will the humidity get out easier? How long will it stay humid before i have to repeat the watering steps? Do I have the right materials in side the humidity box? I have it on the cool side of the cage, its about 79'F. on the cool side, is this the correct spot to put it? Please tell me what you guyz think, and if any one could tell me how there humidity box is setup then that would be great.

Thanks in advance,
Chris

I would just resaok and wring and spray once it gets less than moist meaning almost dry. This is just my opinion bu i would put it in the middle or maby on the warm side so that the wet can become steam in the hide a little easier. It sounds great

Put it on the warm side to get the full effect.
