First time hand feeding my iggy

Aminal_Lover Feb 22, 2004 01:36 PM

Last night I was sittin at my comp with my iggy (he's about 9 months old, found him and 5 others in a field just before it started freezing out), and have been tryin too see if he'd take food from my hand for about 3 months now and he finally took it from my hand! I was excited. He's still a little nervous around me, but not as much as he used to be. He loves his purple towel, especially when I'm holding him (he curls up underneath it and sleeps). Just thought I'd let everyone know...been readin the boards since I took him home (the others went to the humane society here where they were put in good homes with experienced owners only!).

Our female iguana ate from my hand the minute we brought her home and she was still just a juvie. Our male iguana took 8 years before he finally started accepting hand-fed food and he will only take it if it's something he *really* loves. Every ig is different.
