My big "Bold Yeller" Brooksi Kingsnake. New Image

Keith Hillson Feb 22, 2004 03:43 PM

I took these pics under more natural light instead of relying on just the flash like the pic I posted below last night. Here are some stats and history. He is a 98 hatch and is 5' or so long I got him as hatchling at a show in Illinois. He is also het. for Hypo I found out when I bred him to his sister a couple of years back. Ive tried to trace his history and I came up with he is from Mark Bell's reknown Brooksi "Oldman" . I guess "oldman" was a sight to behold being just a giant sulpher yellow Brooksi. From the folks ive talked to about him they said that snake was one of the best looking Brooksi in captivity. I guess he is long gone now but thats is where this male supposedly came from via Bob White in Michigan (he lived near Bell before Bell moved to Florida).I just got a big female on breeding loan from Jeff LeCompte and she is a Bell animal also. She is quite beautiful being a pale yellow and white and super super clean. I will get pics of her after she settles in.

Awesome snake, Keith! The hypos and axantics are nice, but I don't think anything beats a big yellow "normal" brooksi. That is one impressive animal. Hope you get a good clutch from him and his girlfriend this year.

axantic . . . I meant axanthic - I swear there is a curse of mis-spelling on these forums!
