Update on Tokay Gecko situation.

4everherpn Feb 22, 2004 04:02 PM

I posted something about swelling on my Tokay's leg. I got many replies about how some biting occurs during courtship, but nothing like what I've seen. I then read someone elses post about sexing Tokays. It made me wonder about mine. Today I got curious and I took out the first one which I thought was male. He barked at me and had a waxy substance near his cloaca. I determined it to be male. He also bit the heck out of me, but I wore a sock on my hand so it did not hurt.

I got the second one and as soon as I touched it it barked too. I had never had both of them bark to me. He too had a waxy substance around his cloaca. I have determined that I have two males. I am making another cage to seperate them. I would love to get some females. Perhaps I'll exchange a male for one. I really don't want 2.2 tokays, but if I must I will.

Oh the injury had healed on its leg and looks normal.

My tamer Tokays like to bark when I catch them but after there out their fine? Well good luck with your males.
