Sneezing

bearslayer Feb 22, 2004 04:46 PM

Hi today I was puting a damp paper towl in with my snake because he is about to shed. But when I did this he started to sneeze. It was very faint but he did this several times. Before this I have had no problems with him at all. I have heard of respitory infections but i dont know if this is one. I live in Alaska so it might be hard to find a veterinarian that knows about reptiles. Is there any other way to solve the problem without a vet. I am getting really worried. Thanks for any info. Brandon.

My snow sneezed once. Well, three times, real little sneezes, three times in a row, and she was also getting ready to shed. That was the one and only time she ever did that. And it was about 6 months ago.

I'd just keep an eye on him for a while, and especially close after he sheds. It may never happen again.

Good luck

It is possible that a little loose skin in his nostrils is causing the sneezing. Also likely it will subside after he sheds.

Thanks for the information. I hope the sneezing will pass. I have another question though. What causes respitory infection and what are the sighns of it? Thanks again. Brandon
