this maybe a stupid question but what do you mark the eggs with, so you know what side to keep up
like in a just in case one gex hatches and moves the other eggs around

A sharpie will do, or any other non-toxic marker/pen. Just make sure that you dont penetrate the egg.

I have used ink pens, markers, pencils they all work well. I even used a highlight marker on some this year, basically I just use whatever I can find at the time.
