What is the proper basking temp. My thermometer reads the average of 115 on a regular basis. I have a digtal themometer and the probe in attached to the basking rock. Is this right?

Basking spot surface temps should be between 100-110 degrees. I say 115 is OK as long as he can move to the side to adjust his heat, plus the digi thermometers aren't always true. I just got an infared temp gun that read the surface temp of my basking spot temp at 108.3 when my digi thermometer is reading 113.5. Keep any eye out for exccessive gaping which is a sign that you should bring the temp down a little.
