Gutloading Crickets

down Feb 22, 2004 08:20 PM

I've searched on this topic, but couldn't find an answer. Maybe it's just very obvious and I don't see it. Why do you only gutload 24 hours in advance of feeding? As cheap as some of the gutloading methods are, why not maintain them on a "gutload" diet? Is it too rich in nutrients, etc. for them to survive on?

Thanks,

J

it is best to have them always on a gutload diet 24/7. It says at least 24 hours in advance to get the full gutload.

keep them on a gutload diet.

No they only say keep the crickets gutloaded 24 hours before feeding because most petstores dont gutload their crickets and you have to let them eat the gutload. You dont have to take it out because that is their only source of moisture. and i wouldnt recommend spraying their cage for their water because they will drown themselves.
