Female not eating since she woke up....

kofseattle Feb 22, 2004 08:47 PM

Hello,
I have a female aquaflame that came out of her nap about a week and half ago. She has no apparent appetite. I figured she would snap out of it but so far she has not. She is now showing signs of losing weight and I need to get some meat on those bones. What could I do to stimulate appetite and/or hand feed her if it's an option? She is very active but not chasing crickets like she was before. She is in a 55Gal with a nother female and a male and seemd to be the most active of the three. IF I need to hand feed with a syringe or something what would be a good mix? Eve, JohnE? Anyone? Thanks in advance for any assistance!

Peace!

weight, I would not worry yet ! I have a couple who have not had much of an appetite lately also !

But I don't intervene, unless they are real thin wc's or sick

I just ram crickets or superworms in their mouth

If you think shes bad, or weak than you can use baby food, chicken and veggies, or beef and veggies, squash, is another good one, for the syringe.

Your call, you see her, and know if shes in trouble.

Sure hope shes fine. But like I say I have a couple that have not wanted anything either, may just be still that time of year !

My collared woke up a week or so ago and hasn't been interested in crickets either. However, he gobbled up a couple superworms as soon as he saw them. Hopefully his cricket appetite will come back soon, but maybe yours is similarly in need of a change of menu.
