heres and amusing story of my dumb luck....

About 5 min ago i was having the damdest time closing my back patio screen door. I was perplexed, earlier it was completely functional, and now, its refusing to close all the way!! The track is clear...what the hell! So i give it another good shove..still it wouldnt close all the way. I look up to make sure its on correctly on the upper track...its on fine, but wedged between the glass door and the screen is my fat Timor Pudge!!! Oh dear!! Appearantly he had gotten out of his cage and was gonna squeeze out to freedom by way of they small crack between the patio doors. Seems as though his gut had prevented the manuvure!!
Im pretty sure he escaped last night. You see, before I went to bed last night I glanced at his enclosure, and thought it funny that i didnt see him in his usual basking spot. I didnt think much of it, dismissing it with the thought that he was just hiding.-Guess I was wrong. Ya gotta go with your first gut feeling...and make sure you shut your cages ALL the way.
I got lucky. I cant imagine how impossible it would be to find an escaped Timor!

Wow, he would have been gone. They're hard enough to find INSIDE because at least mine can get under doors. Luckily he always heads for under the dryer, so we know where to find him now. Very lucky for you! They're little houdinis!

Oh yeah I had one of those recently. My BT got out and she was gone for about three days. I worried myself sick. Then the little "B" came strolling out of the closet in one of the other bedrooms of the house clear down the hall. That one the last time the she got out. She broke out twice and now is in a new cage that is a whole lot better and should be escape proof. She hasn't escaped since. Never under estimate a sick monitor. I've now learned that lesson.

Chasing them around outside is probably easier than in a basement full of boxes (took 4 hours).
