swollen nose....again

dan-binderup Feb 23, 2004 05:09 AM

Hi
I posted a topic a whil ago concerning my 10 month old aru. It had a swollen nose during it's last shed a it dissapeared after the shed. but now it is back! and arccording to schedule it's next shed isn't due before 20 days from now. It ate today, but I didn't get the same feeding response as I am used to.
It is also prowling the cage at night alot
here are a couple of pic. of the little fellow
I would really appreciate any advise, so feel free to give your fifty cents about this matter so that the mistake can be corrected
Best regards

Dan,

looks like your little guy is up for another shed. They can surprise you sometimes with the frequency of sheds they have, especially when young and eating well.

You can see from the pics you posted that the eyes are slightly clouded over. This can be tough to see in yellow neonates sometimes. I think yours is just preparing to shed again, no big deal.

That almost looks like a minor abscess or skin irritation. Is she rubbing against the cage a lot? Last time after she shed was the right nostril viable? It almost looks like the right nostril is completely swollen shut. If there is any kind of swelling, etc like this after she sheds you may be dealing with a slight infection or abscess.
