I got into corns last febuary and now i'm hooked LOL This year i decided to try my hand at breeding. I bred my snow and caramel het butter females to my caramel/amber male. they were both bred by the male on the same weekend, had their prelay shed on the same day and now have both laid their clutches on the same day! When i got home from school i went to check on them because both were really gravid. Zhaneel had laid her clutch already and they were dried out because she had not used her lay box . As soon as i found them i put them in the incubator w/ moist papertowels, will they recover? they are normal sized but have dry patches. should i give extra humidity/add more water to the vermiculate when i put it in? only one of the eggs looks to be a dud-squarish and yellow on one side- but the rest are white. Kilowea was laying when i found her and her eggs were all still moist. she is in the process of laying two more and then she'll be done! her eggs are huge! she wasn't laying in her box either but i caught them in time and the ones which were already laid are now in the incubator also. they all look great with none looking yellow. Also Zhaneel was really skinny but she just ate a sub adult mouse and is perfectly content. I am not going to double clutch her but i might double Kilowea because she was 400 grams before laying and she doesn't look to have lost that much weight. I'm so excited! The pic is of Zhaneel and Phoenix breeding. I'll post pics of the eggs later tonight!
