Snow Boa Photo... in response to Brian Oakley....

Guy Scavone II Feb 23, 2004 01:48 PM

Sorry to not just tag this on with the current posts, but I wanted to make sure it didn't get buried in there.

With regards to your comment about snow boas being just "a white boa.... and not very exciting to look at" I think you may be wrong on this one. While the Snow Boa is in fact a white boa it still retains its patterning and as such has a slight variation in colors, achieving an almost lavender hue for the saddle coloration.

With this in mind I can't wait to see Motley Snows that have the motley pattern in a white/lavender color set.

Regardless everyone has their own opinions and while I love drastic colors in my boas.... Snow White here certainly has a place in my heart

Thanks for looking,

I have to admit that though I love the coloring of my normal Bci with a passion, the snow boa just does something for me. I'll agree that it's anything but a plain white snake. Beautiful animal, Guy.

I can't wait to see how the Motley's will change the Snow Boa. Some of the Motleys I have are SOOO dark, that they've GOT TO produce some AMAZING Snows. The Het Albino Motleys I produced this year have a long shot chance at being het snow. The father was an albino 66% poss het Snow that Ralph sold me. I'm breeding him to an Anery Poss het Snow this year, so even if I don't get snows from that litter, I'll at least prove him out and know what my chances are of producing a Snow Motley in the near future!

Great PIC Guy. Thanks for sharing

Guy,
I can see where my wording was not the best. I too am working on the snow project and I PERSONALLY like them. I guess what I am saying is, compared to say an albino, it just does not make as much sense to cross them like we are with everything else.
I would though like to see an Hypo Snow (sunglow snow or whatever it will be called).
Your animal is awesome looking.

Was not to offend anyone.

I have a pet store clean BCI, a locality BCC, and if my numbers ever come in (lottery,) I'll get one of those-along with thong wearing French maids, a custom motorcycle built by Billy Lane, and a Chevy Silverado 2500 with an Allison tranny/8.1 liter motor.
