The wait for my tiger retic is almost over.A few questions

Thomas j Jun 09, 2003 06:26 PM

I will be getting a tiger from Bob around the end of the month. This will be my first retic. I have kept some friends for a while. I have a few questions. How often should i feed it and how much? I was keeping a friends and i fed it 5 mice at a time. It was about 2 months old.
How often should i hold it? I want my retic to be calm and tame. How old should it be before i try to breed it? OHH it will be a female.

There isn't an exact answer to how much you should feed your retic. As an example I have 2 baby retics right now. First meal after they hatched/shed was a small rat. Then they had 2 small rats. I bumped them up to mediums within the 3 or 4 feeding. I got them 3 days old at the KC herp show. They have both had large rats for atleast 2 meals now.
You want a slower growth feed less but make sure they look healthy.
