The selling of Ball Pythons Banned in NY?

I happend upon a ad in Hoobly.com today and the person said that the sale of Ball Pythons in NY has been banned. Does anyone know if this is true? What's next banning snakes altogether?

i live in upstate NY and i was calling around to get prices on ball p today they all were still selling so im not sure this persons info was accurate
