Travelling to West Central Florida, some advice??

My mom bought a condo south of Sarasota, Fl. I am going down there the second week of March, and was really excited about possibly gettin in some night-time cruising or hikes. I am not asking for spots or anything like that, maybe some areas that might be OK. I was hoping to check out wild corn snakes (or anything else that might be moving). I don't have that much to give in return, unless you're looking for spots for eastern hogs in northwest Illinois, and I also have some good road cruising sopts in Far Southern Illinois. I hate winter in Chicago.
