Hello. I'm about to adopt a little iguana, so I'm reading a lot to get ready. I've been reading that many owners give their IGs "food treats". What does it mean? Is it a specific diet of the same food for certain time?

Just food your iguana really likes, iguanas seem to have different taste... Mine loves butternut squash, also good because I feed it regularly but he loves it by hand more for some reason... They also like fruit as a treat
Hi, Thomas!
Well, my iguana Bud will chase me around when I have a piece of bread, or even when he sees me putting a loaf of bread in the fridge after I go shopping! He also goes crazy for cooked (plain) pasta, or rice. If he is sitting on my shoulder, and I have one of these things in my hand, he will run down my arm and try to steal it.
I only let him have these things in a small amount about once a week or so, which is probably too often. But it is very helpful when I need him to come over to me when he doesn't want to, or to give to him while I'm clipping his claws, to assure him that it's not so bad after all.
Bread is also great for giving medicine, (soak the bread in it) or soaking it with water to give to a dehydrated lizard.
For iguanas that like fruit best, I have even heard of owners injecting medicine into a grape, in the hope that the iguana won't notice... I know some iguanas will go crazy for bananas, even with the peel on! I don't know yet what Fulton goes crazy for- so far, just greens.
