I'm a gas tech. for Direct Energy, and as long as you have a t-stat with a merc. bulb (non programmable)installed at the hot side of the enclosure that controls the temp. directly from the furnace, then your good to go, (although the rest of your home may not keep the temp. that you desire). What I suggest, is to close off your supply register in that room, and hook up an electric heater to a thermostat controlling the temp. of only that room. Of course, because it is an electric heater, I'd suggest wiring up a humidifier as well & a humidistat to keep your % of relative humidity @ the higher end. I'd also suggest that you keep your "t-stat heat anticipator" set for short cycling, (this way there will be extra assurance that it won't overfire.
What I do, is I have a plug-in block heater to a relay & a transformer to step down the voltage to 24v, for the stat. And I have the humidifier hooked in to the same relay with the humidistat in parallel with the t-stat.
Hope this helps. Let me know if you need any details, or other related question.

If you search around, they have a 1500 watt thermostat made for those oil filled electric heaters.
I've also attached the link here......I think!! LOL

That's exactly what I have set up. The helix 1500 watt controller with an electric oil filled radiator plugged into it. The thermostat also has a night drop controller. One thing is you'll need to be careful of is where you place the temperature probe. If you have a ceiling fan or other type of air circulation it's not as important because the room temp will be more uniform.

pick of the litter male that I held back for someone that bought a female albino from me that asked if I'd hold it for him. I think the albino female dazzled him so much he wigged out and never took the male hypo so I'm glad it's in good and saner hands!!! LOL
