PILBARA ROCK MONITOR

Dirt Feb 23, 2004 07:14 PM

Ive been contemplating about purchasing a trio of these guys. Know there very expensive so its really kind of a high rish/high reward deal. I did the kimberly project w very mixed results but then again my ackies are doing great?!?! So i was wanting a little more detailed info about these guys from the community. I know not alot of peeps are working w them so a few posts would be great. BAsically just worried because they are so closely related to the KRM's that alot of the problems associated with breeding would also appear in the Pilbarar's??

They are amazing! I would also like to get some someday, but they can't be too "easy" with that pricetag. If you didn't have great success breeding KRMs then you might not fare well with pilbs. Then again, maybe you will do great, only getting them will answer for sure. Just make sure you can aford to lose close to $10,000.

Hi, I have kept and bred pilbaras for many years, I have some due to hatch and a female due to lay now. They are not a problem for me. But neither were Kimberlys, I produced hundreds of them.

I also successfully kept and produced several types of ackies. I kept them all the same. I do pay attention to individuals not so much to species. That is, if a individual requires something different then the other individuals I try to recognize it and apply it.

You may want to gain more experience before jumping into something that expensive. Good luck FR
